Over 30 wineries, delicious food selections, musical entertainment, and the new “North Carolina Food  & Wine University,” an interactive and fun educational area.

June 1, 2013  Troutacular Trout Festival – Spruce Pine, North Carolina
Events for the festival include fishing and wildlife vendors and exhibits, Trout Unlimited, trout fishing, children’s activities, local crafters and, of course, food!

June 1, 2013  Beer City Beer Festival – Asheville, North Carolina
The Asheville Brewers Alliance teams up with the folks from Brewgrass for the festival to be held in downtown Asheville at Roger Mcguire Green.

June 6-9, 2013  9th Annual Texas Pete Twin CIty RibFest – Winston-Salem, No. Carolina
Hot Ribs, Cool Music.  A combination of national BBQ purveyors competing for awards and customers, and quality entertainment.

June 7, 2013  Livermush Festival – Marion, North Carolina
The Official State of North Carolina Spring LiverMush Festival. Celebrates the omnipresent North Carolina food staple livermush, which is traditionally made from pig liver, head parts, cornmeal, pepper and sage. The mixture is made into a loaf and fried. It is closely related to another Southern dish, scrapple, which is made from meat broth and cornmeal. The event includes a Little Miss Livermush Contest and the popular Livermush Toss, music and a livermush cooking contest.

June 7-8, 2013  Annual Lincolnton Hog Happenin – Lincolnton, North Carolina
The Hog Happenin’ is a regional bike fest and Kansas City Barbeque Society Sanctioned North Carolina State Championship Barbeque Cook-off that brings motorcycle and barbeque lovers together in downtown Lincolnton. While there are many hog events throughout North Carolina, Lincolnton was the first to combine the animal with the mechanical.

June 7-9, 2013  Annual Taste of Charlotte – Charlotte, North Carolina
Enjoy delicious food while you stroll along Tryon Street visiting local & national sponsors. The festival offers entertainment that is enjoyable for all ages.

June 14-15, 2013  20th Annual Blue Ridge BBQ Festival – Tryon, North Carolina
Come enjoy one of the best barbecue festivals of 2013 with plenty of food, music and fun!

June 15, 2013  10th Annual NC Blueberry Festival – Burgaw, North Carolina
Enjoy some of the area’s finest entertainment, artisans nestled around the courthouse square, antique cars lining the streets, food vendors serving up an array of delicacies and of course the Festival’s main attraction Blueberries!
Attendance: 30,000.

June 15-16, 2013  Annual Taste of Scotland Festival – Franklin, North Carolina
A day of Scottish Fun, Food, Fashion, Music, Dancers, Games, Clans, Border Collie Demonstrations, Crafters, Contiunous Entertainment and Culture for the whole family!  Held annually on Father’s Day weekend. ( )

June 21-22, 2013  Peak City Pig Fest – Apex, North Carolina
Historic Apex, a community situated at the highest point on the Chatham Railroad between Richmond, VA and Jacksonville FL, hosts the KCBS sactioned BBQ competition. Teams from all over the country will compete for prize money cooking chicken, ribs, beef brisket and pork. Attendance: 10,000

June 22-23, 2013  Knotts Island Peach Festival – Knotts Island, North Carolina
An annual celebration of the agricultural community on Knotts Island with food & craft vendors, entertainers, displays, peaches and more peaches!

July 2-6, 2013  Southeast Old Threshers’ Reunion
Denton, North Carolina
The greatest steam, gas, and antique farm equipment show in the Southeastern U.S. with entertainment, pageant, and lots of good ol’ country cooking.

JULY 4, 2013 – There are so many events on this day that they are too numerous to list. Virtually every community in the U.S. has a 4th of July celebration.

July 12-14, 2013  Carolina Mountain Ribfest – Fletcher, North Carolina
A world class professional barbecue competition with chefs from all over the country. Top name live entertainment, carnival, arts & crafts, exhibits and car shows.

July 13, 2013  Summertime Brews Festival – Greensboro, North Carolina
The annual festival will be held at the Greensboro Coliseum Complex. Hundreds of Craft Beers, Live Music.

July 13, 2013  North Carolina Blackberry Festival – Lenoir, North Carolina
In Caldwell County, blackberries are a part of every day life – children beg to go pick from the wild berries lining every bank and mothers take what isn’t eaten during the day for cobblers. Summer fun for all visitors–music, pageant, blackberry eating & recipe contests and children’s activities.

July 19-20, 2013  Spruce Pine BBQ Championship & Bluegrass Festival
Spruce Pine, North Carolina
The event features a sanctioned professional BBQ competition, a wings contest, public tastings, live bluegrass, a cornhole tournament, championship clogging teams, craft vendors, BBQ equipment and supplies vendors, local food vendors, a 5K run, a kids play-area, and much, much more!

July 20, 2013  North Carolina Peach Festival – Candor, North Carolina
Featuring peach cooking contest, peach ice cream, musical entertainment, games & rides for the kids, 5K run, helicopter rides and sky diving exhibition.

July 26-27, 2013  Smokin’ in the Valley – WNC BBQ Festival 2013
Maggie Valley, North Carolina
With up to 40 Cookers, this is a Barbecue (BBQ) Cooking Competition & Kansas City BBQ Society Sanctioned event. On Fri. night, there is a local restaurant competition where you can be the judge! Saturday afternoon, visit the “Tastin’ Tent” to sample competitors’ entries. Daily features include arts & crafts, a kid’s corner, entertainment & beverage sales, including beer & wine.

July 31-Aug 3, 2013  North Carolina Watermelon Festival – Murfreesboro
Murfreesboro, North Carolina
Enjoy a complimentary slice of the State’s finest melons in Historic Murfreesboro, NC! This year we are celebrating our 28th anniversary of the Watermelon Festival! Be sure to come out and be a part of the festivities.

October 5, 2013  The Great Grapes Wine & Food Festival
Charlotte, North Carolina
Over 200 Wines, Over 20 Wineries, Great Live Music and Wonderful Food and Crafts

October 12-13, 2013  Swansboro Mullet Festival – Swansboro, North Carolina
This annual event includes a parade, music, vendors, arts & crafts, kids’ area and of course a mullet fry.

October 17-27, 2013  North Carolina State Fair – Raleigh, North Carolina
Come and enjoy “A Bumper Crop of Fun”–concerts, livestock displays and competitions, antique farm machinery, flower & garden show, miniature farm for children, village of yesteryear, “buy local, eat local” tent, and much more!
Attendance: 1 million.

October 19, 2013  Shelby Fall Liver Mush Expo – Shelby, North Carolina
The Official State of North Carolina Fall Liver Mush Festival.  Join in the fun with a traditional food festival that has something for everyone. Of course there is Liver Mush to sample, with a variety of preparations and choices. There is a fall festival of children’s activities on the Court Square with Uptown Shelby Association and volunteers offering craft and fun activities for the kids. Pet owners will appreciate the Pet Festival on Warren Street, with contests and educational offerings for pets and their humans. Then you can shop at the Foothills Farmers Market like every Saturday.

October 26, 2013  30th Annual Barbecue Festival – Lexington, North Carolina
Lexington – ‘The Barbecue Capital of the World’ – The largest one day food festival in NC. Crowds average over 100,000 every year. Crafts, entertainment, childrens area, and the best BBQ in the world!
