June 1, 2013  5th International Great Beer Expo – Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
This international beer tasting event will feature an incredible variety of beers from some of the finest U.S. and international breweries while raising money for the Committee To Benefit The Children. This local Philly charity provides resources for the treatment and care of children with cancer, leukemia and serious blood disorders.  50+ International Brewers/100+ Beers.  Be there to experience the flavors of award-winning breweries from countries across the globe – from highly acclaimed beers from Belgium, Germany and Japan, to great brews from the U.S.A.

June 1, 2013  Taste of Weaver’s Orchard – Morgantown, Pennsylvania
Come to our annual tasting festival, where you will have the opportunity to sample foods from many of our great vendors! Other activities include door prizes, pick-your-own strawberries, childrens activities and much more!

June 7-9, 2013  Grove City Strawberry Days – Grove City, Pennsylvania
Now in its 23rd year, Strawberry Days attracts thousands of people  over its three days. Events include music, arts/crafts, talent show, and food court.

June 8, 2013  4th Annual Five Alarm Mountain Madness Chili Cook-off
Farmington, Pennsylvania
Participants can compete in three categories: Red Chili, Chili Verde and Salsa. Over $5,000 in cash prizes with a $2,000 prize to the 1st place Red Chili! A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Farmington Volunteer Fire Department.

June 8-16, 2013  Gettysburg Festival 2013 – Gettysburg, Pennsylvania
Celebrate American arts, culture and cuisine.  Garden-fresh cuisine and a farm-to-table philosophy play central roles in Gettysburg Festival’s 2013 lineup featuring seven exquisite events ranging from the elegant White House Dinner to the casual Blues, Beer & BBQ; Garden Brunch; Oklahoma Pie Auction & Champagne Reception; Edible Art Tour; Chocolate on Broadway and more.

June 11, 2013  The Great Chefs Event – Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Superstar chefs and Alex’s Lemonade Stand supporters continue the quest for childhood cancer cures with this fantastic foodie event!

June 22, 2013  Canton Wine & Cheese Festival – Canton, Pennsylvania
The event is held at the historic Manley-Bohlayer farm, which is the same venue for the PA Apple ‘n Cheese Festival. Admission:  Wine Tasting Ticket- includes wine glass & wine tastings $15  Non-Tasters, Designated Drivers & Under 21 $5.  This is an outdoor event and will be held rain or shine. Free parking & entertainment included with admission.

June 22-23, 2013  Great Tastes of Pennsylvania Wine & Food Festival
Lake Harmony, Pennsylvania
The festival will feature continuous musical entertainment on three separate stages, Pennsylvania’s finest wineries and a wide selection of food vendors to tempt your tastebuds. Educational Seminars will be held during the Festival so check them out and learn some new things about wine.

June 27-29, 2013  National Homebrewers Conference – Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
A fun, educational gathering designed to enhance homebrewers’ brewing skills and knowledge and increase homebrewing camaraderie. Special seminars and events cater to beer enthusiasts and amateur brewers of every level.

July 3-7, 2013  Vegetarian Summerfest – Johnstown, Pennsylvania
39th Annual Conference of the North American Vegetarian Society.

JULY 4, 2013 – There are so many events on this day that they are too numerous to list. Virtually every community in the U.S. has a 4th of July celebration.

July 7-13, 2013  Derry Township Agricultural Fair – New Derry, Pennsylvania
Come out and enjoy our annual agricultural fair with livestock, animals, fishing, antique tractor rodeo, bingo, food, exhibits, pet show, tractor pull, arts and crafts show, fleece and fiber show, carnival rides, market sale, contests, fireworks and much more.

July 12, 2013  2013 Emu Egg Art Contest  – Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania
As a way of promoting emu egg shell art, the American Emu Association (AEA) will be hosting the “2013 EGGS’travaganza Egg Art Contest”.  Winners will be chosen and all entries will be displayed in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, on Friday, July 12th, during the 2013 National AEA Convention .

July 12-14, 2013  AEA National Convention – Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania
Emu farmers from across the United States and around the world will attend the 3 day 2013 American Emu Association (AEA) National Convention  AEA members along with other emu growers, will meet for 3 days of education and demonstrations with a chance to meet new people and visit with old friends.  Also “Eggs’travaganza” Egg Art Contest.  The focus of this year’s convention is “FAcing Today’s Challenges”.

July 13, 2013  The Gettysburg Cook Off: North vs. South – Gettysburg, Pennsylvania
The 2nd annual CenturyLink Gettysburg Cook Off will once again present the opportunity for teams to compete to do battle on the grills! This one day event will be held from 12:00-6:00 p.m. at Gateway Gettysburg. This year ACAC will partner with Gettysburg Bike Week and a $15 ticket will include admission to Bike Week festivities on Saturday, as well as to the CenturyLink Gettysburg Cook Off. Live music, kidz zone, and Cornhole are just a few of the highlights of the day. New this year will be culinary demonstrations by local chefs. July 15-17, 2013  2nd International Conference & Exhibition on Nutritional Science & Therapy
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Nutritional Science-2013 is a unique event which invites all the nutritionists, health professionals, Neonatologists & Pediatricians, experts in Child development & other specialities, nutrition influencers and researchers. This meeting will enable the exchange of ideas and knowledge to facilitate research advances in the field of nutrition by connecting scientists within and across disciplines at sessions and exhibition held at the venue, creating an environment conducive for information exchange and generation of new ideas. This conference will schedule and coordinate all meetings with our editorial board members and other nutritional science experts.

July 20, 2013  Blues & Brews – Manheim, Pennsylvania

July 20, 2013  Hops, Vines & Wines Festival – Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania

July 20-21, 2013  Annual Blueberry Festival – Bethlehem, Pennsylvania
Sweetest Festival of the Summer!  Take a tour of James Burnside’s colonial home and barns, catch the hoop in a rousing game of graces, and enjoy the savory smells wafting from the Summer Kitchen. Other activities include colonial brewing demonstrations, kids’ crafts and dress-up, high horse powered wheel rides, and of course, the Blueberry Pie-Eating Contest!

July 23-27, 2013  Plainfield Farmers’ Fair – Stockertown, Pennsylvania
Goat, Steer and Swine livestock competitions; Great American Apple Pie and Chocolate Cake/Cookies and Vegetable Bread Contests; Watermelon Eating Contest; Bar B Q Chicken; Adult and Kiddy Tractor Pulls; Entertainment; Children’s Old Fashioned Games; etc.

July 27, 2013  Upstate PA Wings & Wine Fest – Tunkhannock, Pennsylvania
For the third consecutive year we’re proud to support the Whipple Performing Arts Studio’s dinner theater campaign. Join us for wine tasting (PA wineries), live entertainment, vintage aircraft displays, and a variety of vendors featuring local specialty foods, handcrafted items, and much more!

August Festivals and Events in Pennsylvania

August 5-10, 2013  65th Annual Butler Farm Show
Butler, Pennsylvania
Hundreds of 4-H youngsters bring their animals to the Butler Farm Show to compete for the coveted ribbons and positions in the Livestock Sale.  Thousands of dollars are awarded to Best of Show, Grand Champions and Reserve Grand Champions through the bidding process.  Arts& Crafts and Farm Products are on display.  Food vendors and exhibitors line the many walk-ways on the farm show grounds.  The show arena features outstanding shows each of the six nights.  Tractor Pulls and a large Demo Derby highlight the week.

August 5-10, 2013  Sykesville Ag & Youth Fair – Sykesville, Pennsylvania
Livestock Shows and Sales, Baked Goods Auction, Horse Show, Midway, Petting Zoo, Camel Rides, Tractor Pulls, Live Entertainment and Concerts, and much more.

August 10-17, 2013  Washington County Agricultural Fair & Expo
Washington, Pennsylvania
Welcome to the Washington County Agricultural Fair and Expo Center where we annually celebrate our Western Pennsylvania heritage, culture and community by providing wholesome family fun, great entertainment, friendly competition and educational experiences for the whole family! The Fair is where agriculture, industry, education and recreation unite in a cooperative effort to dynamically portray the resources and accomplishments of the Washington County area.

August 13-15, 2013  Ag Progress Days – University Park, Pennsylvania
Penn State’s Ag Progress Days will once again show the many faces of agriculture, bringing together people with a wide range of perspectives on the production of food, fuel and fiber. Sponsored by Penn State’s College of Agricultural Sciences.

September 4-7, 2013  Cumberland Ag Expo – Newville, Pennsylvania
We invite you to come out and support the activity this year. We are proud to invite exhibits for home products and special contests this year, despite continuing reductions in state funding. We will host the PA Preferred baking contest, the Angel food contest and the Apple pie contest. The winners will qualify for the Pennsylvania Farm Show. We will also accept donations for the bake sale. Please attend to enjoy the food and fellowship. Help in our fund raising effort so that we may continue to support all the exhibits for years to come. September 7-8, 2013  9th Annual Gettysburg Wine and Music Festival
Gettysburg, Pennsylvania

September 14, 2013  Wayne County Wine & Cheese Festival – Honesdale, Pennsylvania
One of our region’s most popular annual festivals, this harvest-time event is all about pairing local wines with local cheeses – and several of each are featured each year. Come out for the day to enjoy wine tasting (Pennsylvania wineries), cheese tasting (local farmstead & artisan cheese makers), lots of other great foods, live entertainment, and a variety of vendors featuring local specialty foods, handcrafted items, and more.

October 2-5, 2013  New Holland Farmers Fair
New Holland, Pennsylvania
Every year the streets of New Holland close to traffic and the center of town transforms into a celebration of farm and community. The crisp autumn air is sweetened with funnel cake, hot cinnamon rolls, and cotton candy. Laughter rings out and dazzling lights shine on the midway filled with thrilling rides and games of chance. Livestock events: Sheep, Swine, Goat, and Rabbit Shows; Parades; Long John Eating Contest; Safe Tractor Driving Contest.

October 18-20, 2013  TASTE Philadelphia Festival of Food, Wine and Spirits
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
At the Valley Forge Convention Center. This year’s Festival showcases the finest in wine, spirits and gourmet foods… along with the talents of local chefs and culinary personalities.

November Festivals and Events in Pennsylvania

November 2-3, 2013  Apple Festival – Lahaska, Pennsylvania
Scrumptious apple treats including country apple butter, apple cider, apple dumplings, apple fritters and everyone’s favorite — apples dipped in caramel! Take home a bushel fresh from the orchard. Juried Artisans sell their wares and demonstrate their skills at our Street Road Green Artisan Area. Live entertainment and apple pie-eating contests add to the festivities of this traditional autumn celebration.

November 9, 2013  Holiday Wine Expo at Spring Brook – Moscow, Pennsylvania
Holiday-themed, indoor wine festival. Simply select a wine or two from one of the event’s wine tasting booths (all Pennsylvania wineries), some cheeses & chocolates from the specialty foods vendors, and a couple of carefully-chosen handcrafted items for each person on your list.

November 28, 2013  Thanksgiving Day – Nationwide
All StatesThere are so many events on Thanksgiving Day they are to numerous to list.  (4th Thursday in November).
