May 15-19, 2013 National Association of Flour Distributors Annual Convention
Scottsdale, Arizona
The NAFD sponsors an all-industry forum addressing strategic issues impacting the flour distribution supply chain. In addition to manufacturer and distributor decision makers, senior-level ingredient suppliers participate in the NAFD four-day meeting. The program is designed with an intensive educational agenda to assist members in improving their bottom lines. This conference is an excellent opportunity to network with key customers, potential customers and other flour industry colleagues

May 23, 2013 Flavors of Phoenix 2013 – Phoenix, Arizona
Flavors is a culinary experience that goes beyond the traditional gala and provides each table of attendees with a local chef who will prepare a multi-course dinner tableside. The meal that is delivered will showcase the signature dishes of our culinary experts and take you beyond the usual restaurant fare. June 7-9, 2013 5th Annual Garlic & Onion Festival – Amado, Arizona
Agua Linda Farm. Enjoy moonlit hayrides and a great music line up! The farm kitchen – The Garden Grill will be serving up some tasty foods with garlic and onions as the stars, of course! We do not allow ouside food, but you can BYOB. Bring the whole family and all your friends out to the farm for a fun evening! Stock your pantry and celebrate the harvest – live music all three nights. Admission for this event is only $8/person OR buy a wristband for $20 – good for all 3 nights!

June 8, 2013 4th Annual Flagstaff Wine and Food Festival   – Flagstaff, Arizona
Celebration of regional wines and local foods, local food creations by some of Northern AZ’s finest restaurants, music performances, art and local food vendors, and silent auction, benefits Friends of Coconino County Parks.

June 8, 2013 Grape Train Escapes/Starlight Ride/Tequila Train   – Clarkdale, Arizona
Wine tasting trains, featuring Tango with South America, wines from Chile and Argentina will inflame your passion for adventure, once hoarded by priests, they’re not just for communion anymore, with culture and history poured into every bottle, these wines will stir your soul.

June 8, 2013 Arizona Watermelon Festival  – Glendale, Arizona
Bringing part of Glendale’s storied history back to life with the 2013 Watermelon Festival, the festival will highlight a crowned and Miss Arizona-qualifying Miss Arizona Festivals along with a multitude of watermelon centric activities and games to entertain the whole family.

June 8-9, 2013  23rd Annual Strawberry Festival – Pine, Arizona
Cool mountain air, beautiful scenery, arts & crafts, food, music, kids’ activities, and strawberry treats!
June 14-15, 2013  4th Northern Arizona Barbeque Festival – Williams, Arizona
Come for the fun–watch the teams, eat a BBQ meal, visit the beer garden, and listen to music. The Pros will be in competition for over $10,000 in cash and prizes! Buy tickets to taste the great “Q” (proceeds to Special Olympics Arizona) and talk with the teams as they work hard to get their entry to the judges.

June 15-16, 2013  Flagstaff Chili Festival – Flagstaff, Arizona
Two days of International Chili Society sanctioned chili cookoffs with cooks from around the southwest competing in Red Chili, Chili Verde and Salsa to qualify for the World Championship Chili Cookoff in Palm Springs, CA in October, 2013. Saturday is the 30th Annual Route 66 Regional Chili Cookoff and Sunday is the 42nd Annual Arizona State Championship Chili Cookoff. The public is welcome to come taste the chili, but supplies are limited.

June 15, 2013 7th Annual Bloomin’ Beerfest – Phoenix, Arizona
Commemorates Irish author James Joyce and his groundbreaking novel, Ulysses, with beer-tasting, wine & spirits also available, readings from the novel, live Irish music and food.

June 22, 2013  Made in the Shade Beer Tasting Festival – Flagstaff, Arizona
Over 50 breweries from around the Southwest and West Coast that bring many varieties of beer to sample, such as: wheat beer, stout, barleywine, cider, bock and India pale ale.

June 23, 2013 AJ’s Summer Wine Specular Tasting Event    – Scottsdale, Arizona

Features tastings of more than 40 wines personally rated and selected by AJ’s cellar masters, wine tastings will be complemented with gourmet foods, and guests will receive recommendations for wine, food pairings and more, also enjoy live music and a silent auction offering wines and other items from AJ’s and its partners.

JULY 4, 2013 – There are so many events on this day that they are too numerous to list. Virtually every community in the U.S. has a 4th of July celebration.

July 4, 2013  2nd Annual Hot Dog Eating Contest   – Flagstaff, Arizona
Up to 8 contestants will ride a float through the 4th of July parade, then, they will chew their way through as many old fashioned American hot dogs as possible in 10 minutes.

 

July 12-13, 2013  Ace in the Hole BBQ Cookoff – Holbrook, Arizona
Whiskey Ranch Pro BBQ Series will be teaming up with the City of Holbrook and Old West Days again. Competitions will be held in the Kansas City BBQ Society categories Chicken, Ribs, Pork & Brisket. This event is supporting some great charities, so please come out and have a good time!

July 12-13, 2013 31st Annual Wild West Days & Bucket of Blood Races   – Hollbrook, Arizona
Arts & crafts, car show, kid’s games, pancake breakfast, BBQ, 10K foot & 21-mile bike races, 2 mile fun run, Native American song & dance, gunslinger classic car show.

July 13, 2013 15th Annual Chili Cook-Off in the Pines Regional Open Championship & State Bean Championship  –
Pinetop-Lakeside, Arizona
Attendees taste recipes for chili and vote for their choice for best from among 45 chili cooks from the four corners area, music, arts & crafts show.

When: July 19-20, 2013 21st Annual Camp Verde Cornfest  – Camp Verde, Arizona
Live bluegrass music, beer garden, food, family activities on Sat., vendors, farmers market, corn eating contest, hog calling, old-fashioned games, cow pie throwing, vendors, and corniest joke contest.

July 20, 2013 Italian Night   –  Cordes Junction, Arizona
An evening of Italian food & elegant live music, dinner under the vaults followed by a performance in the Colly Soleri Music center with opera singer Jayne Casselman, pianist Lynne Haeseler and their ensemble, reservations required.

August 3, 2013 Flagstaff BBQ and Brews 2013  – Flagstaff, Arizona
Five of the greatest blues and rock bands in one show featuring Ten Years After, Edgar Winter Band, Canned Heat, Rick Derringer, and Pat Travers.

August 10, 2013 2013 Arizona Crawfish Festival  – Heber-Overgaard, Arizona
Festival will consist of a crawfish boiling contest judged by both Louisiana natives and a local People’s choice award. There will be a crawfish eating contest, other Cajun food vendors, frozen daiquiris, live music, family entertainment and more.

August 17-18, 2013    7th Annual Grape Stomp   – Wilcox, Arizona
Grapes will be available for stomping by visitors during the festival as well as wine tasting.

August 24, 2013  2013 Southern Arizona Salsa Culinary Challenge  – Tucson, Arizona
Spicy event celebrates Tucson’s Hispanic heritage with music, dancing, artwork and food, salsa features professional chefs and amateur competitions, also a fiesta featuring live mariachi music, art sales, Latin and flamenco dancing, beer and children’s activities.

August 24, 2013 Tequila Challenge   – Tucson, Arizona
Local chefs creating unique interpretations of original tequila-based mixed drinks for tequila tastings, $70 per person, includes salsa tastings and chips as well as unique tequila drinks, Mexican food dinner, private concerts and flamenco dancing.

August 24, 2013  Prickly Pear Festival  –  Superior, Arizona
This event includes a “prickly pear IPA” homebrewing class again this year — and (NEW!) a lecture about prickly pear winemaking by globe vintner Jerry Temanson, who fermented 50 gallons of the unique magenta beverage last year, a half-dozen local restaurants will feature prickly pear dishes.
