Bisquick Cheddar Herb Biscuits make you the most popular person in the room every time. If you’ve ever tasted Red Lobster’s Biscuits, these will have you thinking that Red Lobster is being given a run for their money. I made these for a pre-Thanksgiving feast and they literally were 1/2 gone before I could even set them on the counter to cool. The secret is to baste with melted herb butter as soon as they come out of the oven so it seeps into the biscuit as it cools. The other secret is to NOT over mix the batter. Just fold it enough times to get moist and it’s ok if there are a few small lumps left in the batter.

Yield: 8 biscuits

Bisquick Cheddar Herb Biscuits

These will be leaving the cookie sheet before you can serve them so double the batch


  • 2 cups of Bisquick mix
  • 3/4 cup of milk
  • 4 oz of grated sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 Tblsp fresh herbs chopped finely such as rosemary, thyme, sage or all three. Divide 1/2 for batter and 1/2 for melted butter. These can be adjusted according to taste
  • You can also substitute other herbs like oregano or dill depending on what you are serving


  1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees
  2. Stir Bisquick mix, milk and cheese until soft dough forms
  3. Add garlic powder
  4. Mix in a few fresh herbs chopped finely, reserve
  5. Bake at 425 for 16 - 18 minutes
  6. While baking, melt butter and herbs
  7. Spread on biscuits as soon as they come out of the oven
