June Festivals and Events in Delaware

June 2-8, 2013  Restaurant Week 2013 – Rehoboth Beach, Delaware
Restaurant week features fabulous 3-course dinners all over town. Restaurants will be offering menus with $30 or $20 prix-fixe dinners for a full week in June.  Some restaurants are even serving special lunch menus at $10 & $15. Find your favorites, see what they are serving and when they are open. No matter your culinary favorites or what’s in your wallet, there are treats for your palate!

July Festivals and Events in Delaware

JULY 4, 2013 – There are so many events on this day that they are too numerous to list. Virtually every community in the U.S. has a 4th of July celebration.

July 13, 2013  Smyrna Craft Beer, Wine, & Food Festival – Smyrna, Delaware

$35 (includes admission and tasting tickets, 15 beer/wine tasting tickets for advance sales, 10 beer/wine tasting tickets day of event), $10 for Designated Drivers


July 18-27, 2013  Delaware State Fair – Harrington, Delaware
For nearly a century, the Delaware State Fair has hosted a wide variety of exhibits, with over 3,000,exhibitors competing in categories from Angus beef cattle to zinnias. Culinary competitions include the Blueberry Blow-out Contest, Crazy Over Cupcakes Contest, Homemade Ice Cream Making Contest, Wild Men & Women Cooking Contest, and More! Attendance: 300,000.

July 25, 2013  FranksWine Summer Tasting at Caffe Gelato  – Newark, Delaware

We’ll start our tasting of 30 wine selections with sabering bottles of bubbly on the Patio: Prosecco, Champagne, Cava and Moscato… then head inside for the newly-released, dry and crisp 2012 Rosés in the Lobby & Wine Cellar… continue on to the Dining Room for floral Rieslings, Albariños, Sancerre and Chenins… finally hit the bright, fruit-forward medium-bodied outdoor weather reds from Tuscany, Rioja, Willamette and Napa Valley in the Library!  NEW:  to raise funds for Chester County Futures we’ll have a Silent Auction of cool wines, tastings, and large format bottles!

August Festivals and Events in Delaware

August 3, 2013  Wyoming Peach Festival  – Wyoming, Delaware

Beginning with a parade on Camden Wyoming Avenue at 9:00 a.m. The festival will run until 3:00 p.m. and includes live entertainment, craft booths, community organization booths, food booths, and a peach dessert contest. Shuttles will be available from two convenient parking areas, W.B. Simpson Elementary School parking lot on Old North Road and the Wyoming United Methodist Church parking lot on Wyoming Mill Road.

September 7, 2013  35th Annual Bethany Beach Boardwalk Arts Festival   – Bethany Beach Boardwalk, Delaware

Join more than 100 skilled artists at the premier fine arts festival set against the beautiful backdrop of the Atlantic Ocean on the Bethany Beach boardwalk and surrounding streets. This premier outdoor fine arts festival features local and national artists in an array of mediums from metals to watercolors. Held annually the Saturday after Labor Day, this juried show attracts more than 7,500 visitors!

September 7-8, 2013  Annual Nanticoke Indian Powwow   –  Millsboro, Delaware

Authentic Indian art & craft vendors, Nanticoke Indian Museum Tours, Sunday morning worship service, Native American food and more!

September 20-22, 2013  Oktoberfest at the Delaware Saengerbund – Saengerbund Delaware

Fun for the whole family! Opening parade is Friday at 7pm. There will be Bavarian dancers and a German band for your entertainment. Numerous selections of German delicacies as well as imported gifts and souvenirs provided.

October Festivals and Events in Delaware

October 11-12, 2013  Bridgeville Apple Scrapple Festival  – Bridgeville, Delaware

The annual Apple Scrapple festival celebrates Delaware’s agricultural community with live entertainment, carnival rides, trade and craft shows. Plus, visitors can sample Delaware’s one-of-a-kind scrapple! Apple Scrapple festivities begin at 4:00 pm on Friday evening with the carnival, food court and street dance.

October 20, 2013  –  4th Annual Delaware Wine and Beer Festival  –  Dover, Delaware

Get your taste buds fired up for the the Delaware Wine and Beer Festival at the Delaware Agricultural Museum & Village. Festival-goers at the Delaware Wine and Beer Festival will have the opportunity to meet Delaware’s vintners and brewers and talk about their locations, their products and their processes.
