Destination Cuisine Heads to London
Destination Cuisine founder Laura Raymond will be heading to the ExCel Centre in London November 5-8 to attend the 2012 World Travel Market. Regarded as the leading global event for the travel industry, the four-day event attracts over 3,000 international journalists, 5,000 exhibitors and 48,000 senior travel industry professionals representing 189 countries and regions. Based on last year’s numbers, this year is looking to be an even bigger event. Destination Cuisine will attend to connect with tourism markets, culinary destinations, technology companies and tour companies.
Now in it’s 33rd year,, the World Travel Market represents an important and influential event that is a must attend for professionals and organizations working in the thriving travel industry. The show boasts almost 11,000 conference sessions since the WTM began running in 1979. A few of the highlights to this year’s events are; EasyJet Chief Executive will address the challenges in uncertain economic times, the Travel Channel International, part of Scripps Network is sponsoring the Opening Ceremony for 2012 with ex-Burger King CEO Barry Gibbon and finally, Carnival Corporation Chairman and CEO Micky Arison will make a rare public appearance to debate how the events of the past year have affected the cruise industry. He will sit on a panel of four to debate where the cruise industry is headed and review the tumultuous year considering the Costa Concordia tragedy that killed 32 crew and passengers off the coast of Italy earlier this year.
There will be hundreds of seminars and presentations with insight into the most current travel trends and tourism industry information. This will be a great opportunity for Destination Cuisine to introduce the concept as the first and only international travel website with a culinary focus.
