June 7-8, 2013  22nd Annual Rhubarb Fest – Aledo, Illinois
This unique festival will feature more than 3,000 homemade Rhubarb Pies for sale, Rhubarb Sampling, 12,000 free Rhubarb seeds given away, crafts, music, entertainment and more all set in our historic downtown.  We’re so serious about our Rhubarb that Governor Pat Quinn officially named Aledo the Rhubarb Capital of Illinois.

June 7-9, 2013  Coffee Fest Chicago 2013 – Chicago, Illinois
Coffee Fest has been serving the specialty coffee and gourmet tea industries since 1992. Viewed by most as the best trade show in America and around the world specifically for those involved with retailing coffee, tea and related products. Coffee Fest continues to evolve and stay at the forefront of emerging trends.

June 7-9, 2013  Ottawa Two Rivers WineFest – Ottawa, Illinois
We have enjoyed working with our principle partners – the Illinois Grape Growers and Vintners Association, Heritage Corridor Convention and Visitors Bureau and the Ottawa Visitors Center – to once again bring you the best of Illinois wine and outstanding jazz. And this year, we are pleased to offer fresh grilled lobster in conjunction with Ottawa’s Noon Rotarians. The enjoyment of last year’s inaugural wine fest prompted us to make it even bigger, turning it into a 3 day event. It’s one of Illinois’ biggest and best, featuring wines from nearly 25 wineries from across the state.  We can’t think of a better way to end your work week – or to start the summer!

June 7-9, 2013  Ribfest Chicago – Chicago, Illinois
One of Chicago’s most anticipated street festivals, averaging 50,000 pounds of pork and 50,000+ attendees. Ribfest Chicago invites all Chicagoland restaurant BBQ masters to compete for the title of “Best Ribs”. Includes Ribmania sanctioned rib-eating contest and nationally recognized Indie music festival.

June 7-10, 2013  12th Annual Heritage Tractor Adventure – LaSalle County, Illinois
An adventure with a three-day tractor ride…combining vintage farm tractors and displays with a historic ride, entertainment, great food, and camaraderie. WGN-720 AM’s own Farm Reporter, Max Armstrong, an avid collector himself, will be setting off on the adventure with you. His knowledge of the Midwest farming community, and passion for vintage tractors, makes this an event worth your while. Your tractor must have rubber tires and be able to travel at least 6 miles per hour and be over 30 years old.

June 15-16, 2013  SausageFest Chicago – Chicago, Illinois
It’s all about encased meat treats at this tasty and tantalizing fest held adjacent to iconic Wrigley Field. Returning to the Lake View neighborhood for its second year, SausageFest vendors will include several of the Windy City’s best-known butcher/meat shops and restaurants.  There’s also arts & crafts, and back again will be an eclectic music lineup to make it the perfect early summer fest for lovers of food and tunes.

June 16, 2013  Real Men Cook – Chicago, Illinois
Real Men Cook promotes male involvement, education, outreach and advocacy on food resources, healthy eating, healthcare and public policies on these issues. Takes place each year on Father’s Day in cities across the U.S. A national movement–get involved!

June 21-23, 2013  Taste of Champaign-Urbana – Champaign, Illinois
Discover the fun that awaits you at the Champaign Park District’s premiere festival of the summer! It’s fun for the whole family and it benefits a great cause, the Youth Scholarship Fund.

June 21-23, 2013  Chicago Craft Beer Festival – Chicago, Illinois
The 2nd annual Chicago Craft Beer Festival at St. Michael in Old Town, held on the grounds of the iconic parish, will celebrate microbrews from both the Midwest and throughout the entire U.S. Held over three days, this new event — for beer lovers and non-beer lovers alike — will take on the flair of an authentic Belgian beer fest.

June 21-23, 2013  Long Grove Strawberry Festival – Long Grove, Illinois
This is the granddaddy of Long Grove’s signature festivals, drawing close to 50,000 visitors to the historic business district for the 3-day event. It is considered one of the premier outdoor festivals in the Chicagoland area. The pleasures of summer are celebrated with “berry wonderful” strawberry inspired treats. Attendance: 50,000

June 26, 2013  Spirits of Mexico Chicago – Chicago, Illinois
Come celebrate the distiller’s art. Master distillers and blenders, authors, mixologists, aficionados and ambassadors-from world renowned and new-to-market-brands-all meet to share their skills, experience and, of course, their spirits! Sample dozens of signature styles of all of the spirits produced in Mexico.

July 2-6, 2013  The Taste of Lombard – Lombard, Illinois
Over 20 food vendors, arts and crafts, live entertainment, carnival, and fireworks with music on radio simulcast.

July 3-7, 2013  Naperville Ribfest – Naperville, Illinois
Ribfest recruits 16 of the country’s best rib vendors to cook in a nationally recognized BBQ contest. Major music acts as well as community talent. Fundraiser to fight child abuse and domestic violence.

JULY 4, 2013 – There are so many events on this day that they are too numerous to list. Virtually every community in the U.S. has a 4th of July celebration.

July 4-7, 2013 African Caribbean International Festival of Life   –  Chicago, IL

The International Festival of Life(IFOL) and Caribbean Festival (CAF), celebrating Jamaica Independence and all the other Islands have grown tremendously in attendance, in performance, and in value with over 250 vendors selling fine arts, arts and crafts, delicious foods, and fashions from around the world. Both the IFOL and CAF/JIC are one-of-a-kind, multicultural festivals dedicated to bringing an international experience to attendees, in an effort to spread culture to our supporters from communities in Chicago to inhabitants all over the world.

July 6-7, 2013 Taste of Lakeview  –  Chicago, IL

The Chicago neighborhood of Lakeview is the most populated area in the Midwest largely due to its great dining, shopping and nightlife. Over 40,000 people jam onto the four city blocks to experience Chicago’s ultimate music and culinary fare. If you like to have fun and listen to music then this event is a must see! Artisans and crafts vendors, a wide variety of great food, and an array of street performers add to this incredible weekend. Rock Around the Block is an over-all great experience!

July 7, 2013  Annual World’s Largest Catsup Bottle Festival – Collinsville, Illinois
Help celebrate the world-famous Brooks Catsup Bottle water tower at the 15th Annual Brooks World’s Largest Catsup Bottle Festival. Events include catsup tasting booth, hot dog (smothered in catsup) eating contest, and more.

July 10-14, 2013  Taste of Chicago – Chicago, Illinois
There”s food for everybody”s taste at Grant Park where you”ll find more than 300 menu items from over 70 restaurants. Said to be the world’s largest food festival with over 2 million people attending annually.

July 11-13, 2013  Taste of Park Ridge – Park Ridge, Illinois

July 13-14, 2013  Roscoe Village Burger Fest – Chicago, Illinois

July 13-16, 2013  IFT Annual Meeting & Food Expo – Chicago, Illinois
The Institute of Food Technologists (IFT) Annual Meeting & Food Expo is the ONLY event that brings together decision-makers from all of the many disciplines involved in food science and technology for scientific education and career development.

July 14-17, 2013  NACE Experience 2013 – Chicago, Illinois
National Association of Catering Executives. This revolutionary conference attracts professionals from every segment of the market: caterers (on and off premise), special event planners and designers, wedding consultants and suppliers to the catering and event design world.

July 17-24, 2013 Crawford County Fair  – Oblong, IL

Held every August in Meadville, Pennsylvania, the Crawford County Fair is one of the largest agricultural venues east of the Mississippi River, and possibly the oldest county fair in Pennsylvania. September 25, 1946, marked the opening day of the first Crawford County Fair; over 31,000 people attended the four-day fair that first year.

July 19-20, 2013  40th Annual Sweetcorn Festival – Chatham, Illinois

The Corn Boil, held in Volunteer Park on Main Street in Sugar Grove, generates approximately 15,000 visitors. Fireworks, 5K run/walk, medallion hunt, kids zone, car show, and Corn Boil Cooking Challenge!

August 8-18, 2013  Illinois State Fair – Springfield, Illinois
The annual showcase of Illinois agriculture and unique entertainment includes Inninoisans of the Day, a parade, more than 100 rides, Conservation World, Ethnic Village, Illinois Wine Experience, and horse racing on one of the fastest dirt tracks in the world. Don’t miss the Butter Cow, in which 500 pounds of butter are used to sculpt a life size figure.

August 9-11, 2013 Serb Fest 2013 – Chicago, Illinois
Enjoy live music, sample bbq lamb/pig hot off the spit, indulge in homemade strudels, crepes, and donuts.  Check out kids activities and cultural tours.  Bring the entire family to enjoy a taste of Serbia.

August 23-24, 2013  38th Annual Urbana Sweet Corn Festival – Urbana, Illinois
Each year this festival is frequented by as many as 50,000 individuals from both Champaign-Urbana and the surrounding communities in Central Illinois. This festival is also the official welcome for incoming and returning University of Illinois students. All the local Illinois sweetcorn you can eat is the main attraction of this festival! There will also be live music both nights on two different stages from both regional and national headliners. Car enthusiasts can look forward to the Motor Muster Car Show, a showcase of vintage automobiles. For children and families we have Action Inflatables, a rock climbing wall, indoor laser tag, pony rides, and a petting zoo along with all of the quality merchandise and delicious food from our vendors.

August 23-24, 2013  Old Capitol Blues & BBQ – Springfield, Illinois
Features 40 BBQ competitors and vendors; live Blues music, ICBC Challenge, free children’s entertainment.

August 25, 2013  Peach Festival – Grafton, Illinois
Nothing pairs better than a warm, summer day and a ripe, juicy peach! The Peach Festival will feature local famers displaying their delicious local peaches as well as some of those famous Calhoun Peaches hand picked that morning and still warm from the sunshine. Come on out to the beautiful Pere Marquette Lodge and join us for an afternoon of fun, festivities and peaches. There will be live entertainment, craft vendors, tons of family friendly fun and all the ripe, juicy peaches you can eat!

August 27-29, 2013  60th Annual Farm Progress Show 2013 – Decatur, Illinois
This major agriculture event, “The Super Bowl of Agriculture”, gives visitors the opportunity to see the latest equipment, seed, crop chemicals, field demonstrations, livestock handling and equine events, entertainment, and more. Farmers and ranchers from across North America and around the world visit the event to see agriculture’s latest product introductions, meet face-to-face with agribusiness professionals and gain hands-on knowledge. This Labor Day Weekend Chicago will host 30 BBQ Pit Masters in a REAL BBQ Competition! Teams from across the US will fire up their smokers in a No Gas, No Electricity competition for the title of Grand Champion. Set to the beautiful backdrop of Chicago’s Lakeshore and city scape at historical Soldier Field; this competition promises to give everyone who comes out an authentic experience of BBQ done right, right here in the Windy City!

 

September 6, 2013 Galena Food & Wine Festival –  Galena, IL

The ARC Taste of Galena and Galena Wine Lovers’ Weekend committees have teamed to plan an evening of flavor featuring samples from Galena-area restaurants and wine tasting sponsored by Family Beer & Liquor. Live music, raffle and silent auction.

September 11-14, 2013  47th Annual Morton Pumpkin Festival  –  Morton, Illinois

Home of the Nestlé/Libby’s pumpkin packing plant, over 80% of the world’s canned pumpkin is processed here in Morton. In September 1978, then Governor James Thompson declared Morton, Illinois, ‘The Pumpkin Capital of the World.’ Includes Pumpkin Games; Pumpkin Festival Carnaval, Food & Entertainment; Pumpkin Craft Faire.  (also: www.mortonmagnet.com/pumpkin_festival.php ) Attendance: 70,000.

September 27-29, 2013  21st Annual Apple Festival – Long Grove, Illinois

Great food, Punkin Chuckin shirts, hats and memorabilia, fall decorations and some games for the children that cost extra. It is a good idea to bring lawn chairs as seating is scarce. This is a pretty laidback activity. We will have an announcer informing you as to what will be happening thru out the day. It is a wonderful family activity.
