This is a low cost make ahead dish perfect for any occasion.

Parmesan Lasagna



Lasagna with Parmesan Sauce

Prep Time: 15 minutes

Cook Time: 30 minutes

Total Time: 45 minutes

Lasagna with Parmesan Sauce


  • 1 1/2tablespoon(s)salt
  • Parmesan Sauce
  • 8 ounce(s) fontina cheese
  • 3/4 cup(s)grated parmesan cheese
  • 16 ounces lasagna noodles


  1. Adjust oven rack to top position and preheat to 425 degrees.
  2. Dissolve salt in 2 quarts boiling water.
  3. In a 13x 9 inch baking dish add noodles to water and soak until soft, about 8-10 minutes.
  4. Drain noodles and stack loosely
  5. Wipe baking dish dry
  6. Smear 1/4 cup parmesan sauce (see separate recipe) on bottom of baking dish
  7. Top with a layer of three noodles, the 2/3 cup parmesan sauce, 1/2 cup of fontina cheese and 2 tblsp parmesan cheese
  8. Repeat three times and make a final layer with remaining noodles, parmesan sauce and cheeses. Cover with aluminum foil.
  9. Bake about 30 minutes until very hot. Remove foil and turn oven to broil. Watching carefully, broil until cheese and sauce are slightly brown
  10. Remove from oven and let stand 15 minutes
