The New Orleans Oyster Festival will educate the country about the benefits of the Louisiana Gulf Oyster, honor and celebrate the restaurateurs and oyster farmers who have solidified the New Orleans French Quarter’s position as the “Oyster Capital of America”
June 7, 2013 Bon Mange’ Festival – Gheens, Louisiana
“Good eating” festival with cajun food, music, dancing, rides, and games.
June 8-9, 2013 New Orleans Vieux To Do – New Orleans, Louisiana
Three festivals, one weekend: Louisiana Seafood Festival, Cajun-Zydeco festival, and The French Market Creole Tomato Festival
June 8-9, 2013 Creole Tomato Festival – New Orleans, Louisiana
June in New Orleans means the arrival of Creole Tomato dishes on local restaurant menus, in farmers markets, and at roadside stands. Typically the crop arrives in early June, which is why the French Market’s Creole Tomato Festival is always held the second weekend of that month.
June 14-16, 2013 Louisiana Corn Festival – Bunkie, Louisiana
Held the second full weekend in June each year, this will be the 27th annual event, promoting our city and the impact agriculture has on it and the people in the area.
June 21-22, 2013 Squire Creek Louisiana Peach Festival – Ruston, Louisiana
A family-oriented event produced by the Ruston-Lincoln Chamber of Commerce and held each year the fourth weekend of June.
June 21-23, 2013 Louisiana Catfish Festival – Des Allemands, Louisiana
Sample from a wide variety of catfish dishes: including catfish platters, catfish boats, catfish po-boys and catfish sauce piquante. Rides, games, road races, and catfish-eating contest. Country store, plant booth and crafts. Live music.
June 28-29, 2013 Le Festivale de la Viande Boucanee – Ville Platte, Louisiana
Better known as the Smoked Meat Festival, this two day event is promoted by Chapter 632 of the Vietnam Veterans of America and is held on the last full weekend of June each year in the “Smoked Meat Capital of the World”. It showcases the Cajun heritage, friendly people, delicious foods, toe-tapping music and natural beauty of the region.

July 17-21, 2013 Tales of the Cocktail – New Orleans, Louisiana

July 25-27, 2013 50th Annual Louisiana Watermelon Festival – Farmerville, Louisiana
The Watermelon Festival is celebrated the last weekend in July each year as a way of promoting the watermelon industry and showing pride in their harvest. Activities include: tennis tournaments, photo contests, best decorated window, arm wrestling, 5-K run, watermelon auction, watermelon quality and tasting competition motorcycle poker run, street dance, parade and much more.

September 20-22, 2013 Natchitoches Meat Pie Festival
You’re invited to the 9th annual Natchitoches Meat Pie Festival and River Run being held in historic Natchitoches, Louisiana. The festival will take place at the downtown riverbank along the fabled Cane River Lake.

October 19-20, 2013 40th Annual Old Farmers Day – Loranger, Louisiana
A reenactment of the methods our forefathers used to live, work, and enjoy life. OFD is sponsored by the Loranger FFA with the community coming together to help with the various activities along with the Brunett family. The FFA raffles off a Belgian colt given away during the horse pulling contest on Sunday. There will be contests for kids; Saturday only: farriers contests and teamsters contests; and Sunday only at 1:00pm – 3:00pm a horse and mule pulling contest, with three classes at 1:00 – 3:00. Reenactments include wagon train parade and rides; hog butchering and cooking; all types of field work done with Belgian draft horses and mules; sheep shearing, blacksmith shop; sugar cane grinding and syrup cooking; cooking biscuits, etc. on wood stoves; old timey working kitchen and smoke house; petting zoo with baby animals; antiques/crafts, spinning wheel & weaving, quilt making; all types of food – old timey and modern, and much more.
