June 2, 2013  Taste of Ann Arbor – Ann Arbor, Michigan
For more than 20 years, Taste of Ann Arbor has been the unofficial kick-off of the summer festival season. The streets are always packed with curious food fans tasting the best that our restaurants have to offer.

June 6-9, 2013  Frankenmuth Bavarian Festival – Frankenmuth, Michigan
Voted “Top 5 Festivals in the State of Michigan” by AAA’s Michigan Living Magazine. Bavarian music played by authentically dressed German bands, two outstanding parades, rides and games. Saturday’s Kinder Tag (Kid’s Day) is sure to have something for children of all ages. Taste buds are tempted to their limit with a variety of delicious German foods and desserts. And to top it all off, plenty of refreshing ice-cold beer – Imported and Domestic! Attendance: 100,000.

June 7-8, 2013  2013 Strawberry Festival – Hartford, Michigan
The schedule includes crowning of Prince/Princess and Sweetest Strawberry Baby, live entertainment, Strawberry Run, car show, sports tournaments, parade, and strawberry pie-eating contest.

June 7-8, 2013  Battle Creek Cereal Festival – Battle Creek, Michigan
World’s longest breakfast table, arts crafts, parade.

June 7-9, 2013  14th Annual Gizzard Fest – Potterville, Michigan
Many events including a gizzard eating contest, parade, antique tractor show, hot chick/rooster call, live entertainment, and much more.

June 7-9, 2013  National Asparagus Festival – Shelby, Michigan
Held every year during the second weekend of June in Oceana County. Events include a Grand Parade, Family Activities, Arts & Crafts Fair, Motorcycle Run, 5k Run, Asparagus Food Show and much more!

June 9, 2013  Traverse Colantha Walker Dairy Festival – Traverse City, Michigan
The festival recognizes Colantha, the Holstein dairy cow.  Of the 96 Holstein-Friesian cows that comprised the former Traverse City State Hospital’s herd, Colantha was by far the most prolific.  In 1926, she produced 22,918 pounds of milk in a single year, making her the highest producer in the world!  According to a Federal census during that same year, the State average production was only 3,918 lbs. of milk per cow per year!  In her lifetime, from 1916 to 1932, her total production was 200,114.9 pounds of milk. Wow!  Activities include a pancake breakfast, farmers market, Great Grilled Cheese Grill-Off, food, art, live music, food demonstrations, wine & cheese pairings, milk & cookie pairings for the kids and a parade to Colantha’s headstone.

June 12-16, 2013  Michigan Sugar Festival – Sebewaing, Michigan
Celebrating the area’s role in growing and processing sugar beets. Grand parade, golf outing, midway, entertainment tent, candy drop and other children’s activities, and crowning of the Michigan Sugar Queen, “the sweetest girl in the world”.

June 14-15, 2013  Cheese Town Challenge Race & Festival – Pinconning, Michigan
The Chamber of Commerce hosts the event including the CheeseTown Challenge Race, baseball and softball tournaments, cheese cooking demonstration, Cheesy parade, CheeseTown Dad Contest, beer tent with great live music, disc golf tournament, Ultimate Mac & Cheese Dinner contest, and fireworks.

June 14-16, 2013  Belleville National Strawberry Festival  – Belleville, Michigan
Held every Fathers Day weekend with a parade and many other berry special events! Attendance: 200,000

June 15, 2013  Strawberry Fest – Coldwater, Michigan
Stroll down Chicago Street where flats of strawberries and other strawberry delights may be purchased. The sidewalks are filled with nearly a hundred arts and crafts vendors. Look for the special kids’ area. Always the 3rd Saturday in June.

June 15, 2013  Lake Michigan Shore Wine Festival – Weko Beach, Bridgman, Michigan
The festival is a showcase event where guests sample (tastes or by the glass) all of the wonderful Lake Michigan Shore Wine Trail locally-grown-and-produced varietals. Tasting tickets are $1 per ticket–1 ticket for a taste and 5-7 tickets for a glass. Wrap this into a day filled with sun and sand, extraordinary cuisine from local restaurants, blues, pop/rock, R&B, and a dazzling sunset and you have one fantastic summer festival – ideal not only for wine aficionados but for the entire family!

June 15-16, 2013  Houghton Rotary Seafood Fest – Houghton, Michigan
Always held on Father’s Day weekend in conjunction with Bridgefest, the event offers a chance to sample your favorite seafood, listen to music and join in the fun.

June 21-22, 2013  Traverse City Wine & Art Festival – Traverse City, Michigan
The festival is a landmark celebration of the wine, food and culture of Michigan’s wine coast, featuring wines from wineries of the Leelanau Peninsula, Old Mission Peninsula, Traverse City & Benzie along with a selection of the area’s finest restaurants serving gourmet food and desserts. The 2013 festival is our 5th annual and will once again showcase innovative music & performance and original artwork from dozens of regional artists.4,000

June 29, 2013  PastyFest 2013 – Calumet, Michigan
This festival celebrates the Cornish pasty, which is pastry filled with beef, sliced potato, turnip or rutabaga and onion, and baked. Pasties were traditionally eaten by copper miners in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. Events include the Pasty Walk and Pasty Parade, music, pasty bake-off, and children’s games, including the dreaded Pasty Pull.

June 29-July 6, 2013  National Cherry Festival – Traverse City, Michigan
The mission of the National Cherry Festival is to celebrate cherries, tourism and community involvement. 150 events, over 500,000 annual attendance for the 8 days.

JULY 4, 2013 – There are so many events on this day that they are too numerous to list. Virtually every community in the U.S. has a 4th of July celebration.

July 5-6, 2013  Copper Country Strawberry Festival – Chassell, Michigan
An annual event held in July. Festivities include a parade, craft fair and plenty of strawberry jam and shortcake.

July 6, 2013  40th Annual International Cherry Pit-Spitting Championship
Eau Claire, Michigan
Tree-Mendus Fruit Farm hosts the event, with competitions for men, women, and youths. The current world’s record spit is 93 feet 6-1/2 inches.

July 10, 2013  Food for Thought’s Green Cuisine – Honor, Michigan
Visitors will be able to sample some of the best products of local food and beverage artisans, tour Food For Thought”s organic farm and green buildings as well as socialize, learn and have fun in a beautiful setting. Children welcome.

July 10-14, 2013  Corn Fest 2013 – Auburn, Michigan
The 43rd annual festival will feature live music, casino tent, entertainment tent, carnival, Cornstalk 5k run, cornhole tournament, parade, and blood drive.

July 11-13, 2013  Michigan Livestock Expo – East Lansing, Michigan
Swine, beef, sheep and goat shows and sale-a-bration. Designed to enhance the livestock industry, educate youth and showcase Michigan’s agriculture industry.

July 11-14, 2013  64th Annual St. Helen Bluegill Festival – St. Helen, Michigan
Fishing contest, crafts, kids parade, talent show, horseshoes, car show and grand parade. Come on, where can you have more fun?

July 18, 2013  60th Annual Manchester Chicken Broil – Manchester, Michigan
With volunteers serving 12,000 charbroiled chicken meals in a four-hour period (about one meal every second), the Chicken Broil is considered the largest event of its kind. Other activities include a car show and musical entertainment.

July 20, 2013  Leelanau Wine on the Water Festival – Cedar, Michigan
Annual wine festival featuring Leelanau County wines, food from area restaurants, classic boat show, and blues music.

July 20, 2013  Sunrise Side Wine and Food Festival – Harrisville, Michigan
Souvenir glass, live music, and art show. Michigan vintners serve wine, area restaurants serve food and 3 breweries will serve beer and soft drinks.

July 26-27, 2013  Michigan Brewers Guild 16th Annual Summer Beer Festival
Ypsilanti, Michigan
The Summer Beer Festival features over 600 different beers from more than 65 Michigan craft breweries. Food will be available for purchase inside the festival, and guests will enjoy live music from a variety of Michigan bands.

July 26-28, 2013  Yale Bologna Festival – Yale, Michigan
Celebrating a proud tradition of making first class bologna, with such events as a street dance, fireworks, outhouse races, parade and King and Queen of Bologna. Attendance: 20,000.

Since 1928, the Upper Peninsula State Fair has provided a place for folks from across the nation to experience and celebrate the unique culture and heritage of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. Fairgoers enjoy agriculture and animal exhibits, entertainment, midway rides, and much more.

September 28, 2013  Weko Beach Brewers Festival   Bridgman Michigan

The Weko Beach Brewers Festival is a showcase event to sample (tastes or half glass) over 30 wonderful locally produced craft beers from Southwest Michigan. Wrap this into a day filled with sun and sand, tasty cuisine from local restaurants, live music, a dazzling sunset and you have one fantastic fall festival! Live music will enhance the scene as you raise your beer mug and ‘toast the coast’ on Saturday, September 28 from 1 pm to 7 pm ET, under a Big-Top Tent overlooking beautiful Weko Beach in Bridgman.
The Weko Beach Brewers Festival is a showcase event to sample (tastes or half glass) over 30 wonderful locally produced craft beers from Southwest Michigan. Wrap this into a day filled with sun and sand, tasty cuisine from local restaurants, live music, a dazzling sunset and you have one fantastic fall festival!

November 30, 2013  Great Macaroni & Cheese Bake-Off
Traverse City, Michigan
The Wineries of Old Mission Peninsula will host some of the area’s top restaurant chefs who have turned the classic comfort food dish of Macaroni & Cheese into culinary marvels!
