June 1, 2013  Ponca City Herb Festival – Ponca City, Oklahoma
The Ponca City Herb Festival is held the first Saturday of June each year. Centrally located in Ponca City, the festival is set in the Lester and Mary Cann Memorial Gardens.  More than 100 vendors from Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas, Colorado and Arkansas bring their plants, primitive birdhouses, yard and garden ornaments, quilts, herbal vinegars and oils, handmade baskets, candles, soaps, furniture, stoneware and much more. Seminars for those wanting to know more about herbs, horticulture and outdoor design. Expect sessions on growing and using herbs, garden recipes, wildflowers, herbal teas and bath products, roses and landscaping.

June 14-15, 2013  Hog Wild BBQ & Chrome Fest – Chandler, Oklahoma
The Oklahoma State KCBS Championship event will include People’s Choice BBQ tasting, music, car & bike show, kid activities, vendors galore, fireworks, and more!

June 27-29, 2013  Bixby Green Corn Festival – Bixby, Oklahoma
A kick back to the good old fashioned family oriented picnic, the annual festival features great music, arts and crafts, food, and carnival, as well as games and contests for the young and young at heart. A talent show to highlight area youth is held on Friday at the Community Center and the annual Green Corn Parade entertains the masses on Saturday morning.

July Festivals and Events in Oklahoma

JULY 4, 2013 – There are so many events on this day that they are too numerous to list. Virtually every community in the U.S. has a 4th of July celebration.

July 5-6, 2013  Mc Loud Blackberry Festival – McLoud, Oklahoma
The McLoud Blackberry Festival began in the 1940’s as a celebration of the end of harvest season for the local cash farm crop, blackberries. Activities include a parade, carnival, pageant, talent show, fireworks, car show, and blackberry baking contest.

July 18-20, 2013  47th Annual Porter Peach Festival – Porter, Oklahoma
Contests for the best peach cobbler, dessert and preserves. Parade, music, street games, pet show, antique tractor pull, and 5K run.

July 26-27, 2013  12th Annual Watermelon Festival – Valliant, Oklahoma
Activities include a parade, gospel concert in the park, fun runs, car show, pancake breakfast, photography & quilt shows, and watermelon toss, seed spitting, biggest melon, and eating contests.

October 27, 2013  Sorghum Festival – Wewoka, Oklahoma
Visit Wewoka for a fun-filled day at the Sorghum Festival.  This fall festival is a celebration of Wewoka’s history and the history of sorghum production in the town.  Sorghum is a sweetener, similar to molasses, that was primarily used in pioneer times.  At 10am, decorated floats, antique tractors, show horses and marching bands will make their way through downtown Wewoka in the annual parade.  After the parade, visit the car show to admire classic cars of all makes and models. Attendance: 30,000.
