Classic Tomato Salsa Recipe

This fresh classic tomato salsa recipe is made with ripe tomatoes, jalapeno peppers, chopped onion, garlic, cilantro, olive oil and lime juice

Ingredients

  • 3 large ripe tomatoes, diced
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 small green bell pepper, seeds and veins removed, finely chopped
  • 1 clove fresh garlic, minced
  • 1 jalepeno, seeded, deveined and finely minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Fresh lime juice from one small lime or 1/2 of larger lime
  • 2/3 cup chopped cilantro
  • Sprinkle of kosher salt
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper

Instructions

  1. Cut tomatoes first, place in a colander and sprinkle with kosher salt. Allow to drain for 10 minutes
  2. Combine all ingredients in a food processor and pulse a few times. The longer you pulse the less chunky it will be.
  3. Cover with plastic wrap and allow to chill for at least one hour before serving.
