May 31-June 23, 2013  Busch Gardens Food & Wine Festival – Williamsburg, VA

June 1-2, 2013  32nd Annual Vintage Virginia Wine Festival – Centreville, Virginia
A cornerstone of the East Coast wine festival season, featuring a one-stop shopping environment for wine collectors and enthusiasts, as well as a unique opportunity to interact with winemakers, movers and shakers, cultivating your own understanding of what makes a quality vintage.

June 7, 2013  Virginia Cantaloupe Festival – Halifax County Fairgrounds, Virginia
Lopefest – 33rd Annual Virginia Cantaloupe Festival.  Begun in 1981 as a way to showcase the succulent goodness of cantaloupes grown locally in beautiful Halifax County, the festival has become one of the premier events in Virginia. Great food, fun, and music.

June 8, 2013  Beer, Bourbon and BBQ Festival 2013 – Richmond, Virginia
A great day of beer sippin’, bourbon tastin’, music listenin’, cigar smokin’, and barbeque eatin’.

June 8, 2013  Ashland Strawberry Faire – Ashland, Virginia
A day to honor the succulent springtime berry. Sample the strawberry shortcakes, drinks, breads, and more or take home flats of fresh strawberries. Vendors offer arts, crafts, plants, and antiques to the many thousands who attend the event. Entertainment on two stages.

June 8-9, 2013  Virginia Herb Festival – Middletown, Virginia
Herbal crafters and product vendors, thousands of herb plants, pick your own lavender, gardens, local artists, wine tasting, tea tasting, food, music, educational workshops and the chance to learn about the Shenandoah Herb Society. High Tea will be prepared from the garden and served all day.

June 12, 2013  Virginia Pork Festival – Emporia, Virginia
The world’s largest outdoor barbecue. Last year’s event attracted over 15,000 people representing 32 different states. Attendance: 15,000.

June 12-13, 2013  Commercial Marine Expo – Hampton, Virginia
The Port of Hampton Roads is the largest port complex in the United States, encompassing Norfolk, Williamsburg, Newport News, Hampton, Portsmouth, Chesapeake, Suffolk and Virginia Beach. Commercial Marine Expo is the only B2B trade show representing this robust maritime marketplace.

June 15, 2013  16th Annual Cajun Festival – Purcellville, Virginia
Come join your Cajun cousins at Breaux Vineyards for the 16th annual Cajun Festival.  Enjoy cajun fare, wine tastings, craft vendors, vineyard hayrides, wine-a-ritas,  and more at this annual celebration of our Cajun heritage!  Live music

June 16, 2013  Manassas Wine & Jazz Festival –  Manassas, Virginia
Now in its 9th year, the Manassas Wine and Jazz Festival is held on Father’s Day at the Harris Pavilion, located in the heart of historic Old Town Manassas. Featuring headline jazz artists, this event is an intimate and relaxing afternoon of tasting and purchasing wines from award-winning Virginia wine artisans.

June 20-23, 2013  24th Annual Bayou Boogaloo & Cajun Food Festival
Norfolk, Virginia
Norfolk’s annual love-fest with New Orleans’ special spirit and unique Bayou culture.  This popular 3-day festival delivers the heart and soul of Louisiana to visitors of Town Point Park in true Cajun and Creole style.

June 22, 2013  BBQ, Bands, & Brews – Palmyra, Virginia
This is an event for the entire family featuring a variety of activities including a KCBS sanctioned barbeque competition, Hometown BBQ contest, entertainment, and local vendors.

June 22-23, 2013  NOVA Summer Brewfest 2013 – Centrevile, Virginia
This Celebration of American Beer features over 60 of America’s best breweries, a variety of food to complement the craft beers and great local and regional bands to entertain you. Please note that beer sampling ends one hour prior to the close of the festival. Attendance: 7,500.

June 22-23, 2013  21st Annual Safeway Barbecue Battle
Washington D.C.
This internationally acclaimed event is one of the world’s largest BBQ contests, and draws more than 100,000 people from all over the world to welcome summer on Pennsylvania Avenue, and enjoy world-class BBQ, music, food, celebrity chefs, interactive exhibits, and kids’ activities.

June 28-29, 2013  Covington Cork and Pork Festival 2013 – Covington, Virginia
The Covington Cork and Pork Festival features a Kansas City Barbeque Society sanctioned barbeque competition, wine tastings, food, music, entertainment, kids’ activities, and a People’s Choice BBQ competition.  Admission to the festival is free, but the wine tasting and People’s Choice BBQ competition where you get to sample some of the barbeque does incur a cost to participate.  Come and enjoy this wonderful event!

JULY 4, 2013 – There are so many events on this day that they are too numerous to list. Virtually every community in the U.S. has a 4th of July celebration.

July 13, 2013  8th Annual Key West Festival – Purcellville, Virginia
Come enjoy our “Vineyard in Paradise” at the 8th annual Key West Festival at Breaux Vineyards.  Enjoy island inspired food, wine tastings, craft vendors, vineyard hayrides, wine-a-ritas, kids activities, vineyard tours, live music and more!  Wine and wine-a-ritas will help you ease into the perfect state of mind.  Live music.

July 13, 2013  9th Annual Horse & Hound Wine Festival – Bedford, Virginia
Enjoy wine from eight of Virginia’s finest wineries while listening to good music and visiting art, craft and food vendors. Virginia’s most unique wine festival has numerous events throughout the day with horses and dogs as the primary attractions such as the Parade of Horses, agility dogs, and muskrat racing.

July 13, 2013  Hanover Tomato Festival – Mechanicsville, Virginia
Come be a part of a Hanover Tradition that dates back 35 years. This signature Hanover County event, brings in folks from all over the East Coast.  There will be tomato growing contests, arts & crafts, a variety of entertainment, food, and free activities for children of all ages.  Attendance: 30,000.

July 19-21, 2013  Chincoteague Island Blueberry Festival – Chincoteague Island, Virginia
Held each year on the weekend prior to the Chinoteague Island Pony Swim. Features music and over 100 artists and crafters. Blueberries galore–fresh, blueberry shortcake, ultimate blueberry pie, muffins, homeade ice cream, pancakes and much more! (also: www.chincoteaguechamber.com )
July 20, 2013  Que and Cruz 2013 – Louisa, Virginia
The Zion Cross Roads Fire Department and Small Country Campground are pleased to announce the 5th annual Que and Cruz. This is a VA State Championship, KCBS sanctioned contest with a Car Show and Live Music. Proceeds benefit the Small Country Children’s Christmas fund and the Zion Cross Roads Volunteer Fire Department.

July 20-21, 2013  38th Annual Pork, Peanut & Pine Festival – Surry, Virginia
Pork, peanut and pine have been Surry County’s cash crops for nearly 400 years. The festival includes arts and crafts, a parade through the grounds, kids’ corner with petting zoo, and a BBQ cookoff. Held at Chippokes Plantation State Park.

Truckeroo is a monthly festival held April thru October at the corner of Half St. and M St., SE showcasing food trucks from the Washington, D.C. area.

Molasses and applebutter making, a family event featuring Old Time and Bluegrass Music, arts/crafts and BBQ Chicken.

October 19-20, 2013  NOVA Brewfest – Centreville, Virginia
The annual NOVA Fall Brewfest is a “World Beer Celebration” with live outdoors music, crafters, food and of course, lots of great craft brews to sample! It’s the biggest and best beer and music festival in Northern Virginia!
