Italian Sausage and Peppers

One taste and you will be hooked on these little italian delicacies.


  • 8 hot or sweet Italian sausages
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 large onion, halved and cut into large pieces
  • 2 large red peppers, seeded and sliced
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 pinch crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Good Quality jar Marinara or Homemade Sauce


  1. Heat the oil in a large pan, over medium heat.
  2. Add the sausages and cook until brown, turning frequently about 10 minutes.
  3. Add the onions and stir up the browned bits on the bottom of the pan.
  4. Then after another 2 minutes, add the peppers, garlic, salt, pepper, and dried oregano.
  5. After lowering the heat cook for another 5-10 minutes until the vegetables are tender and the sausages are cooked through.
  6. Add a homemade or quality jar sauce and simmer 15 minutes.
  7. Serve with freshly grated parmesan cheese
