Split Pea Soup-Crockpot Style


  • 2 medium yellow onions
  • 3 stalk(s) celery, diced
  • 3 carrots, chopped
  • 4 can(s) fresh garlic
  • 1/2 teaspoon(s) dried oregano
  • 1 pound(s) dried split gren peas
  • 8 cup(s) water
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon(s) kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon(s) freshly ground black pepper
  • 1ham bone
  • 2 tablespoon(s) cornstarch mixed with water


  1. Cover split peas with water and soak overnight
  2. Set ham bone, water, split peas, onion, carrots, celery, oregano and salt and pepper in crockpot
  3. Cook on high 5 hours, then on warm for an additional three hours
  4. Add the cornstarch mix to the soup and stir
  5. Season with additional salt and pepper to taste
